Choosing the Perfect Ring

Buying an engagement ring can feel like an overwhelming task. It's the ultimate symbol of the most important relationship of your life and there is a lot of pressure on choosing the perfect ring. So with this in mind, here are some key points to get you started.

BESPOKE JEWELLERY

Getting engaged is a once in a life time event, and the engagement ring should reflect this significance. It will probably be the most important piece of jewellery you will ever buy, and so the engagement ring you choose should be a thoughtful and considered purchase.

Whether you are interested in my original bespoke design service, customisation of my signature settings, or redesigning an heirloom piece, each service I offer reflects my philosophy - to ensure the design is nothing less than perfect, that each piece is created with exemplary craftsmanship and that I offer an exceptional service to each and every client.

 WHERE TO START

If you're lucky she might have already hinted in the past as to what sort of ring she wants - if so head down those lines. If not, you have a little work to do. Firstly, pay attention to the jewellery that she already wears - does she gravitate to dainty pieces, classic jewellery, or bold statement designs? Does she have a vintage style or prefer more minimalist contemporary jewellery? Is she more of a silver/platinum jewellery fan than yellow or rose gold? Take tips from her wardrobe - what colours does she wear? Keep an eye on what she wears for a couple of weeks and make a mental note of her style. And if you're still unsure, get in touch and I will help you decipher all of this to work out what she will love.

DIAMOND OR GEMSTONE?

The word 'diamond' and 'engagement ring' have gone hand in hand for years, but there are no hard and fast rules, and whilst some might consider a diamond as being the only option for an engagement ring, others would prefer something a little bit different and would love a coloured gemstone. Gemstones can sometimes be more affordable and with vast arrays of beautiful stones, you really could make your engagement ring incredibly individual.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

Original bespoke designs will typically take around 8 weeks to create, and customisation of the signature settings often slightly less. That said, if you are working to a shorter timeframe do still get in touch and if it’s at all possible, I will do everything I can to help.
